making a sword from scratch

This article shows a guy making a sword - with patterns on the handle and blade - from the original hot block of metal. Fascinating.


I really like the 'MAKE' magazine site with all the ideas of things to have a go at making. In addition their blog highlights things that other people have created and I decided to link to three of these this week - it being the end of October as I write this.
