Richard Dawkins has received much criticism for his book since it was published last year. In this article, from the 'Times Online', he answers some of their points.
This is a link to my earlier post of 25th October 2006.

The God Delusion - reprise
'Scratch' - a free program creator
"Scratch" - a FREE programming tool aimed at younger people.
Now it is simple to create animated stories, video games and 'interactive' artworks.
Drag and drop the different "elements" that make up your idea and ... it's done ... or almost.
You can download the program (35 MB or so) from the MIT site here - there is no need to fill in the details unless you want to do so.
You'll be able to see what other people have already created with 'Scratch' ... and when you create something you can send it in too.
The image below links to a game called "Spider Man vs The Green Goblin", it had been available for only 16 minutes when I first saw it. Very simple but good fun.

Additional - June 2007
The Spidey game I linked to above seems to have been removed - or gone missing - try this one instead - Snake.
Neat little e-paper and GPS gadget

This is a rather nice GPS device with some extra storage for photos etc. and some data capabilities.
The outside can display maps.
Product page with more info here.
Archery automaton

After the modern item posted on Tuesday - today a model from earlier times.
The picture shows a small archer, it is a modern reproduction of an item produced in the 1850's.
Follow this link and see more details AND a video of it in action.
It is quite astonishing to watch it take, load, aim and fire each of four arrows.
There's a kit available to make your own as well although it requires credit card and US dollars.
Gameboy mod

Mario may well looked shocked.
You can see here how someone has managed to put a PC into an original Gameboy - all down to one of the newer teeny-tiny nano-micro-mini motherboards.
Future ideas - 2

Despite their image as "copiers" of technology, Microsoft do employ people to think about futuristic concepts - such as the DigiDesk shown above. (Link site has YouTube video too.)
Future ideas - 1

The engineers at Samsung have been thinking what the PC of the future might look like.
Watch week - day 5

Another expensive timepiece today.
The Vacheron Constantin 'Saltarello Jump Hour'.
Guess what its claim to "being different" might be.
Watch week - day 4

TokyoFlash always have some interesting items.
The 'Shinkoshu' is just one of them.
No digits to read ... just groups of coloured LEDs.
Watch week - day 3

Today, we take for granted games on mobile phones.
This watch shows how this could have been done years ago,
The Girard Perregaux '1945 Jackpot Tourbillon'.
Watch week - day 2

A stylish watch according to the publicity.
Described as "perfect for the man with no time", it might be better to say "perfect for the man with no brain".
The Vlaemsch 'Internal Watch'.
