Online storage

Flash drives and remote access are two ways of making sure you have your data available wherever you happen to be. Online storage via hosting sites is another.

"div-Share" is one such site that seems to provide unlimited storage - though access to your files seems less controllable than might be ideal.

"X-drive" is another place where you can keep your files with some degree of security.

I would advise against using these for anything too personal but for many items they provide a useful alternative.

You can read more about online storage here at TechCrunch or via a search with Google.

Photo Mosaics

Here's another site that allows you to upload files and create new content - this time it takes your pictures and creates a photo-mosaic from them.

You can find more about photo-mosaics with this Wikipedia article.

Chromatographic Writing

There are some written languages which use colour in addition to symbols to convey meaning.

This article at 'ozoux.com' introduces one such and has links to lots more information.

Firefox extensions

The Firefox application (and now the new Internet Explorer 7) allow the installation of plug-in extensions to add new features to your browser.

I have Google Mail checker, a small countdown timer (for the next holiday), a proxy-switcher and a Win-Amp control amongst mine.

This article shows what happens if you try to add every extension possible - interesting but stupid.

Remote Access

This is a link to a nice little BBC article about being able to access your home PC (or PCs) when you are not at home.

While you may able to access your school work when you are at home there are probably times when you wish you could do things the other way round too.

Well - now you can.

At the end of last year Popular Mechanics ran a little article discussing '10 Tech Concepts for 2007'.

It includes the "bendable concrete" you can see in the picture.
