Apollo 11
It was exactly 35 years ago today that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin first landed on the Moon as part of the Apollo 11 mission. The picture on the left is clipped from one of many classic pictures that were recorded by them.NASA have recently put the entire collection of pictures for the Apollo series of missions on the Internet. They are of amazing quality considering their age and the fact that most would have been taken with traditional film cameras and have since been scanned.
Well worth a look.
Note : I have altered the order of some summer postings so that the dates are more appropriate.

Brilliant LEGO animated movie of Spiderman 2. To go with their movie tie-in products LEGO have produced this excellent animation.
And it is only about 2 weeks since 'Spiderman 2' had a massive first weekend in the States and it premiered here in the UK on Monday evening.

End of summer term - post 4
It's time to go out into the country and bag a few ducks. Time for ... 'Duck Hunt'.
Wait for the dog to go into the fields and disturb the birds. You only have THREE shots in each section ... so make 'em count.

You can be Mr. Miyagi (played by Noriyuki Morita in 'Karate Kid') and catch insects with your chopsticks.
Try this silly little game.

An Unreal Weblog
Weblogs come in many guises. Some are diaries, some are rants against the world (we know who you are Hen) and some are just plain different.

Wall decoration
These decals should go nicely with the clock (see Monday's post) that you bought and hung on your wall.
Such a chic, retro feel - don't you love those pixellated blighters.

A Real Weblog
Between the three non-serious posts this week time for something serious.
'Random Acts of Reality' is a weblog written by Tom Reynolds, a London Ambulance driver. He records his life in gritty detail day-by-day and, for many, it has become compulsive reading.
A review of this appears in the Guardian Online here.

Movie Clichés
To complete the movie-related links of this week here's a site with a long list of movie clichés of all sorts.
For example:
"Teenagers - The walls of a teenager's bedroom or a twentyish adult's apartment are always highly decorated, beyond anything sane, with every available inch of space covered with something cool."

Comp Sci jobs
On Tuesday the post was about the 'Brain Academy' competition for a place on the Computer Science course at QMC, London. Why would you want to start such a course?
There's many reasons but one might be so that you can join the top players at Google in the Googleplex - read about their company.
